Tuesday Tip :: Think Outside The Camera

May 1, 2012 by

So, this weekend we moved. We still don’t have internet at home (don’t even get me STARTED with internet companies….) but we are surviving. Putting things away and spending time together as a family adjusting to our new home.

One of the new things we’ve discovered that our daughter (she is three) has an interest in is gardening. She is constantly talking about flowers and plants and vegetables and wanting to make things grow.

Now, I am what they call a “Black Thumb”. I’ve killed plastic plants in my past, but between moving to the new house with a huge yard area that is full of tulips and succulents and a variety of other growing things that I’ve only seen on Pinterest and in magazines, I want to try.

I also have discovered I need to find something to do to relax. As my schedule has streamlined and I’m able to build more structure and long term planning, I have hereby decided to take time to garden.

What do you do outside of photography related fun and tasks to unwind? And taking care of family/playtime/cleaning doesn’t count!

  1. Gardens are great for kids! Just plant one zucchini and maybe some tomatoes and you’ll be set. We haven’t had one for a coupled years and I really hope to get a couple veggies in this year.
