When you first start out and the phone isn’t ringing and all you want to do is get your hands on some clients. You’ll take anything. Any client.
This can harm you more than it can help. Once other people start figuring out how awesome you are, you are going to start getting busy. And your schedule will get filled. And soon, you’ll be taking multiple sessions a day in order to please everyone.
You will get burnt out. You will stop loving what you are doing. You will lose the passion. Especially when you consider the 3-6 hours total of post work that has to be done with each session. To keep sanity, concentrate on getting quality images with each shoot. Figure out how long it will take you to edit each session and discover how many sessions a week you can take on. If you don’t have time, don’t take a session. Figure out the limits and you will be far more happy. Plus, it’ll give you added incentive to price yourself properly!
